A flower called ‘forget-me-not’ was chosen as the symbol of a long string of events that were dedicated to the hundredth anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The graphic image of the symbol was developed by Sharm company, chief of the presidential staff, Vigen Sargsyan.According to him, forget-me-not was chosen from dozens of proposals submitted to a contest by a working group established by the state commission for coordination of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He said forget-me-not has actually the same meaning in all languages – to remember, not to forget. So we shall not forget, April 24th, 1915. This Sunday is a big day for all Armenians. My husband tells me stories about his grandparent’s from his dad’s side that had to endure the pain and suffering to leave Armenia because Turkey wanted to get rid of the Armenian population. It is time to recognize April 24th, 1915
